How long have you been in business?
Tuff Shed, Inc. has been in business for 30 years.
What is your primary product or service?
We build custom garages,provide storage solutions via our Shed category, build custom cabins for vacation properties, on premise storage buildings for reastuarants, and many commercial buildings. We can also build up to two story houses(excluding mechanical and interior finishing). Also, many homeowners and business start-ups are using our sheds/accessory buildings for other purposes. You dream it and we will build a long lasting warrantied quality building!
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Mr. Tom Saurey started this business as a result of his mother asking him to build a shed for her. Soon, neighbors, friends and relatives asked for the same. This all started in Idaho and then Tom spread the concept to other markets, providing the nations top quality shed and garage products. We have seen "fly by night" operators come and go in this business with the home or business owner at the tail end of building problems. We are not that kind of operation, rather, we have a high rating with the BBB and Angie's List. Just ask your local building department if there are any problems or issues.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
When a customer comes into our Streamwood sales center, they will see up to 14 different buildings as examples of our work. They can further customize their building to their liking. Our Pricing will be in detail based on our customers' choice of size, style, custom work and options or as simple as a small garden shed. Pricing varies depending on all the above. We will be fair and we will back up our work. If there are any building issues, we will stand behind our product and fix it. We offer industry leading material and proprietary, as well as pantented items in the construction of our buildings. We stand apart and ahead of major "big box retailers" based on our knowledge, service and experience. NO RETAIL SALES TAX!
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Tuff Shed, Inc. has 53 locations nationwide. We continue to expand into new markets and into developing high quality products.
Provide detailed directions to your location
Our Streamwood location is located on Lake Street (Route 20)between County Farm Road and Route 59. We are the large barn landmark on the south side of the street. There are over 14 display models to view.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, check, cash and will provide financing to approved clients through Citizens State Bank of Florida. We offer 6 month or 12 month "same as cash" with conditions.
Which areas do you service?
We cover an area of 150 mile radius from O'Hare Airport. This includes; Eastern Iowa, most of Southern Wisconsin, Northern Illinois, Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Mr. Tom Saurey and his management team run the company from Denver. He has talented and experience front line sales consultants who can answer all project related questions, provide detailed quotes, provide custom drawings (if required) and can follow through with the entire permitting process.
What are your hours of operation?
They vary between the winter and spring summer fall season. Generally, Monday - Saturday from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM and/or by appointment. Sunday from 12:00 - 5:00. Site visits are available per appointment(within a specific geographic area) or business can be conducted via email, fax and phone.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
The best compliments I do receive are; "You are very knowledgable and passionate about this business" or "The entire Tuff Shed process was much more professional and pleasant than I expected" or "Your builders were very polite, professional and thorough in their clean-up" and finally, "We are very please with our Tuff Shed(or garage) and will gladly share your information with friends, co-workers, neighbors and relatives".
